Duke of Edinburgh Award

Greenacre International School is proud to offer the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award as an after-school club for students in Key Stage 3 and 4 (Years 7 to 11). The award encourages young people to challenge themselves, develop leadership, teamwork and resilience, and gain a sense of accomplishment through service and adventure.

Through a combination of physical activity, skill development, community service and expeditions, students learn to step beyond their comfort zones and take responsibility for their personal growth. Participation helps them build confidence, independence and empathy while working collaboratively with others.

The programme includes regular after-school sessions and planned school trips designed to prepare students for the adventurous journey element of the award. These experiences give participants the chance to connect with nature, solve real-world challenges and create lasting memories with their peers.

By taking part, students not only gain an internationally recognised qualification but also develop qualities that serve them throughout life - perseverance, compassion and a sense of purpose.
